Robert asks…
Should I hire a moving company or rent a U-haul?
I’m a college student moving from a big city to a college town (around 60 miles in between). I have two couches, a desk (which I can dis-assemble to make it easier to move), a tall cabinet thing (I can also dis-assemble this), a twin bed, a dresser, and a couple of small objects. I would use a u-haul but I can’t move the two couches by myself or with my mom, plus the place I’m moving into has stairs. Would this cost a lot to move all this stuff??

Dennis Carter answers:
Yes, you should hire the moving company. If you hire then you do not need to bother about all those moving.issues as the company itself will take care of all those cons. If you are moving from California then you can hire Lightning Van Lines. They provide the most affordable estimate and their service is simply outstanding.

You obviously need some help moving out and moving in (especially with those stairs).
Most likely you don’t know anyone at your destination who would be willing to help.
Sometimes it just makes sense to hire the job done. It will also save you having to deal with driving an unfamiliar truck and there is always the danger of your getting injured trying to do it all yourself.

James asks…
Does anyone know a moving company that can move my stuff from fort myers FL to orlando FL?
its just boxes of clothes and stuff like that no furnuture

Dennis Carter answers:
I’d rent a U-haul; but Bekins did a nice job for us on a longer move; a lot more expensive than do it yourself.

UK Student in desperate need of money. Can anybody help?
Hi. I’m a 22 year old music student in my second year at Uni in East London and I am in desperate need of an online job that has no investments and no scams or even pretty much anything tha can provide a high enough or steady regular income.
I have been lacking funds for ages now. I need to make money to pay for a lot of certain things for my studies which I cannot afford on my loan as it primarily pays for food and commuting etc.
I had to leave my flat and move back in with my parents for whom I still have to pay housekeeping.
I had to quit driving lessons. I also need to renew my passport as I understand that my band is going on tour in the New Year. I have gone through four part-time jobs since the beginning of 2010 but had to quit all of them as they weren’t flexible around studies and kept giving me shifts when I was at lectures etc. so it was further affecting my studies. I am jobless now, with the intention of just living on my loan, but I know that eventually it’s not going to be enough.
I made the BIGGEST MISTAKE a few months ago by putting my trust in an American Company that guaranteed I would be able to make a great profit by moderating websites and selling products online. Because I was an idiot, I trusted them and made quite a large investment to begin and they further took out money via monthly debit. They messed me around, hadn’t specified everything that I was supposed to have been doing and whoever I had spoken to, told me completely different things from a previous person I had seeked help from. It was one of these things that once I had made the initial investment, they just kept cropping up with more schemes to get money out of me, masquerading as a benefit or an advantage.
As you can understand, I am having A LOT of financial difficulty and am in some considerable amount of debt too. If anyone knows of ANY online jobs in which I would be able to start making some more money then please, please HELP ME.
Although, I don’t want to go through any of this ‘invest now to begin training or download your software today’ or furthermore, any non-invest sites that claim you don’t have to pay anything, but won’t give you any jobs unless you invite other people to join first (which won’t work because I’ve already tried and unsuccessfully referred anybody to a company I’ve tried to join – maybe I’m just naive).
Anyways – there must be SOME online job I can work with part-time around my studies..does anybody know of one? One that is quick, easy, fast to join, no investment or further stage rubbish that they don’t state beforehand – or maybe there is anybody out there who would like me to work for them online? All of these sites state that I could easily make over 5,000 per month – I don’t necessarily need that. Earning about £400 – £1,000 a month would do me just fine. I’m a focused, creative and motivated individual who is keen to bring any project or any job at hand through to completion. And as you can understand, I have a lot of personal targets and goals in which I need to fund myself to even realistically do them.
As you can understand, I’m getting quite angry, frustrated and to a certain extent, depressed about my situation. If anybody can help me out with a good part-time job with a guaranteed well-paid income, then I seriously would be eternally grateful. Please help.
Faithfully,
Rob Wacey

Advice on the teamviewer Scam!?
I was just wondering if anyone could help me with a question??I am from New Zealand and when I moved to Canada my parents who have never even sat at a computer decided to get one so they could keep in touch.
A couple of days ago they were rung by a company (or not) who told them their computer was about to slow right down and they would not be able to skype me unless they gave them their computers ID & password. My parents are very trusting and very naive in what passing this info over could do, so they gave them the id & password. Their computer was remotely accessed and software was downloaded, the call was then dropped!!I do not know a lot about computers!
Since this has happened, a friend of ours ran a virus scan and found nothing, then uninstalled the software. However, these people still have the id &
password, therefore access! What else can my parents get done? can the id & password be changed to stop remote access? If you have the time to answer this question I thank you in advance!!
Kind regards

Dennis Carter answers:
This is absolutely shameless on part of the people who did this. Now as you say they remotely accessed the files, there are two possibilities:-
1. Either they haven’t planted a RAT
2. They have planted a RAT
Now, you can go forward and change the id and pass of stuff. But what I would suggest is doing a clean install, by wiping out everything first because Anti-Virus won’t detect everything as some of these malwares tend to be FUD ( Fully Undetectable). So I believe, you should just carry on with a clean sweep of the hard drives and install a fresh copy of the OS. Also, you can untick the option where it says about Allow Remote Connections to be made to this network. After installing the fresh copy of OS ( I presume a Windows version), make sure to install an Anti Virus like Bit Defender or Norton Internet Security, which as per my usage are the best in the market now.
And I completely missed the Team Viewer part, since its uninstaled, it would be al okay but I would suggest doing the fresh installation of WIndows.
And mate, New Zealanders are one of the nicest people in this world, so it does suck when stuff like this happen to them.

I have received a Trojan Horse on my computer?
I was on my computer one night, trying to hack-back my facebook password when I stumbled across a page that said to download a file application which would give me my facebook password if I typed my user name into the application. Normally, I don’t trust these things, but since I was getting desperate, I tried it anyway. Before I downloaded it, a pop-up box popped up and said that this download file has been scanned 21 times and the file has shown no trace of malicious software. So I clicked download. It downloaded and the box came up to either press run, save or cancel. I clicked run, and immediately, my AVG Free Anti-Virus popped-up and it said that it has detected 3 Trojan Horses on my computer. I managed to delete two of them, and move the third one to the virus vault. I deleted it from there. I did a full computer scan and I had no computer threats. A few days later, doing nothing particularly wrong, AVG Free Anti-virus popped-up again and it said that I received another Trojan Horse. I deleted it. The next day the same thing happened, and again, I deleted it. I thing that I am just going to keep receiving Trojan Horses, and that the company that sends the Trojans have my IP address, but I could be wrong. All I can do at the moment is keep updating my Anti-Virus program and keep deleting the Trojans if they pop-up. Could you please tell me what is happening and how I can stop receiving Trojans?

Dennis Carter answers:
A Trojan virus is faulty computer program that can infect remote computers by changing the desktop or deleting important files. Generally called a Trojan Horse, it appears as a legitimate file or software from a trusted source, therefore tricking users into opening it or downloading it. Take action and protect your personal computer files by learning to delete this Trojan virus.

Downloaded something – probably a virus!!! Network gone and more!? Hi! I hope you guys out there can help me o?
Downloaded something – probably a virus!!! Network gone and more!?
Hi! I hope you guys out there can help me on this problem. Im pretty stuck, and im trying to fix it, but meanwhile I could need some answers – some help… Any help will be greatly appreciated!
Well, as you see, I have a big problem. I were looking for a beta key for Battlefield Bad Company 2 Beta, and I were stupid enough to download something from an unsure website (why did I do that??). Then everything went downwards. Norton 360 discovered some kind of virus, fixed it, but I had to restart my computer to totally remove the virus. So I did. When I restart, I login with my administrator account. Now it takes longer than usual. Finally something happens.. The screen is shown (desktop), but only the screenshot. No shortcut to games, programs, browsers (none of that). And the taskbar at the bottom is gone – the one were all program are “moved to”, when you lay it down (if you know what I mean). Taskbar meaning —> the one with the “Start”-button.
A couple of minutes later, all the regular shortcuts for stuff are shown – finally. BUT the “taskbar” is still gone. I fixed this by right clicking on the very bottom, and make it show the “taskbar”. Unfortunately, the virus did something – it´s color is plain – not the regular blue or grey color. Just plain color. And also, when I open up Explorer, it is also just plain color. I dont think I have run my computer in safe mode before, but maybe that´s the colors/theme/style that are used then?? I think that indicates bad things.
I figured I could use “System-Restore-Service”-thing, but when I try to open it, it wont open. It says (translated from Norwegian to English:”System Restore can not protect the computer. Restart the computer, and thereby run System Restore again.”
So I did, but it still wont work. I have also run “msconfig”. I have tried several things in the “General” tab. It wont work. What draw my attention, was that under “Services”-tab, all services are stopped. Only four services are running: “Apple Mobile Device”, “Ati HotKey Poller”, “Event Log”, “Plug and Play” and “PnkBstrA”. I tried to deactivate all –> the ones that already were running, would not stop. I also tried to activate all, but that didn´t work either.
In the “Restart”-tab (its called that, or something like that), I´ve tried to uncheck processes I do not want to start when the computer starts. I unchecked “wmpscfgs” and “jusched” because I knew that was a virus (I experienced that virus a couple of weeks ago – really annoying virus). That wouldn´t work. When I restarted my computer, after unchecking those two, they were still checked to be run. Before, when I experienced the annoying virus wmpscfgs, I removed it by using the well-known virus-scan Kaspersky Online. It found the viruses and infected files for me, and I used “Malwarebytes Anti-Malware” for removing these viruses/infected files. As mentioned, Kaspersky Online, located them, and I removed them by using a tool inside the Malwarebytes software. That fixed it.
The reason im bringing this up, is that im trying to use the same method to remove the virus im experiencing now – but im not able to do that since there´s no internet connection and Malwarebytes wont open (I get an error….).
Now, first I could need some help on how to enable internet connection – get the network up and running again. Afterwards, I´ll probably need some help on removing this virus (if my “Kaspersky-Malwarebytes” fails).
About the network – I have a cd, which should enable me to get the network up and running again. It´s called: “GIGABYTE Dynamic Energy Saver Advanced, Intel 4-series Utility DVD Ver.1.06″. I used it to get the network up and running when I reinstalled Windows XP a while ago.
I put the CD/DVD inside the ROM, and launched the install-setup-thing (run.exe). When the software opens, I only get: “Now Loading. Please wait.”. Nothing else happens…. Im dependent of that the cd is running – I need to get this installed.
Also, another important detail, is that when I look in my TaskManager, under “Processes”, there are not enough processes. I can see that a lot of the processes, that earlier were there, are now gone. Could this has something to do with what I earlier mentioned about that almost every service is stopped in System-Restore-Service (under services)?
And also, about the processes in TaskManager, do you guys know all of the required processes that my Windows XP needs? If so, how do I run these processes?
Well, I hope this wasn´t tooo much to read for you (probably it was A LOT TO READ – hehe). And I hope you can solve my problem. Meanwhile, as mentioned, I will continue on trying to fix the problem that im experiencing at the moment. Thanks!

I hope you can see this information (:p). Im new to Yahoo, and could not answer my own question. But here are some details:
When I try to run Malwarebytes, I get the following error:
“Run-time error ´372: Failed to load control ´vbalGrid´from vbalsgrid6.ocx. Your version of vbalsgrid6.ocx may be outdated. Make sure you are using the version of the control that was provided with your application.”
I appreciate your effort and support into this case. First I´ll try to download “SuperAntiSpy” (or whatever it was called
) on my Mac. Since Mac is not XP, I can see if I can find an update for the software, and bring both (SuperAntiSpy and the update) to my XP through a USB – or using my other external harddrive for that matter.
As a last resort, I´ll probably give Windows XP Repair a chance, and if that doesn´t work, I might need to reinstall XP or use System Recovery (only as last resort, after I´ve told you how it went down with Malwarebytes and SuperAntiSpy, of course)
THANK YOU
Update:
I downloaded “SuperAntiSpyware”, as informed and brought it to my Windows XP computer. However, when trying to install it (since I cant install a XP software on Mac), I get this error:
“Can not get access to the service Windows Installer. This can occur if Windows Installer is not installed correctly. Contact support-personel if you need help.”
Weird error….
Thanks!

Thanks again, and I hope Windows Xp Repair will work.

Dennis Carter answers:
Hopefully this will help – First of all open your computer in safe mode with networking. Hit the f8 key as it is starting and select safe mode with networking.
Download malwarebytes antimalware, install it, update it and run it and it should check to make sure you have no more viruses on your machine
An alternative program is superantispyware
http://www.superantispyware.com/
http://www.malwarebytes.org/
Next put your xp disc in the machine and restart. If you are given an option to start from cd say yes. If you go straight into xp you need to change the bios – hit esc, f2 or del as the machine starts and then select cd drive as first boot.
When you have managed to start from the disc you will be given a set of options – DO NOT SELECT RECOVERY – select install, the disc should then find your existing operating system and ask if you want to repair it. The answer is yes
This way you will keep all your programs and data and just repair the xp installation. Please note you will need to have your xp key and also install all windows updates after you have finished
I hope this will help you

Dell 5100 PC with XP Media Center?
The computer has a TV tuner and we hooked up a cable to watch tv. But, the tuner is not being detected. I called the cable company and they said it was the computer software. Anyone know what software I would need. The tuner used to work before I moved the computer. Also, I don’t know if this was important. But, I used to have cyberlink DVD player. And now I don’t. It came witht the computer and I am not going to pay for it if I need to rebuy it . But, if you know anywhere I could get the download for free. I can’t talk to Dell support because it would cost $40.

Dennis Carter answers:
You need to uninstall the Update Rollup 2 for Windows Media Center Edition 2005.
Then I would advise re-installing the Cyberlink DVD software, so that you have an approved MGEG decoder set as your system default.
Re-install and then run upadtes and then this additonal patch from M$:

Lets Talk Virginia Moving Company

William asks…
why am I never content?
Well, I have been through alot and I’m just 14. My sisters moved out of the house when I was 5. They were the only company I had since my mom always worked late until 5 sometime 9a.m. It sucked….I was always alone, eating just of boredom, and slowly started drifting away from everything that mattered.I learned to do EVERYTHING by myself. My dad, I barely even saw him. My mom’s friends daughter’s took care of me most of the time, so I kinda grew up very fast. Ive had encounters where I saw my mom all beat up by her boyfriend. Years passed, still alone, I grew careless. I looked for “love” in boyfriends but I never did anything bad. I was always a straight A, spoiled student. After my mom found out I had a boyfriend she sent me out of the country for almost a year. When I came back, we lived in NC for about 2 months. Then we just moved to Virginia and it sucked! I was very miserable, no one to talk to, it’s like I was away from everyone. Finally, my aunt from florida called, I hadn’t seen her in like 6 years. She decided to convince my mom so that I could move in with her. Now I’m currently living with her, my mom doesnt call at all…and I just recently found my dad, which left again!
There’s more to my life lol but I’ll just keep it to myself..for now.
…You’re probably thinking “it’s puberty”. But it’s not.
Please, if your gonna tell me something like ” who cares” just don’t write anything at all. I’m just looking for help, that’s all.
Any help at all would be great.
I just need an answer.
Thank you. :]

Dennis Carter answers:
Honestly, you cant find self fulfillment in just a snap. It takes time, trials and tribualtions…you learn what makes you happy and doesnt. All the events that occured is not your fault because all you have been doing is trying to make yourself happy, but you should also be considerate of others feelings, like what your mom went through when your dad left. She mustve felt miserable and lonely. She mustve had a hard time caring for you and she probably feels guilty for not raising you properly. How come you didnt have friends to vent to? Your mom mustve been stressed and did all those things for a reason. Many teens go through life changing events, and youre right, this isnt puberty. If your dad doesnt want to be your dad, then forget him. Why waste your time when you could be doing something worth while? As for you mom, let her be for awhile, she’s probably happy that she has less responsibility to take care of. While youre at your aunts, why dont you try making friends and show your progress onto becoming happy to your mom. She would be proud to have a grown, independent, happy daughter. Cheer up, you have more years to come and more troubles to come So be prepared to face anything.

John asks…
What Should I Do About My Ballet?!?
So i am currently in ballet but it isnt exactly the most serious ballet company (like the professional ballet companies). I used to be in one of the very professional companies and it was fabulous to be in Peter and the Wolf and the Nutcracker at a young age. however, the teacher moved to virginia and alabama and stuff so i cant go there anymore. i have been thinking a lot lately about how much fun i used to have and i was maybe thinking of going to a more professional ballet company and taking it more seriously. the problem is, i havent been in the professional atmosphere for about 3 years and although i took summer courses at the professional ballet, i am very rusty. the summer course was great however it was a lot of work. what do you think i should do? should i look into maybe switching ballet schools for more challenging stuff or stick with the less professional company that i have had lots of fun at?

Dennis Carter answers:
You should switch to the more professional school if you want to be a ballet dancer when your out of high school or whatever school your in. If not you probably shouldn’t though it would be a good chance to learn a lot more and be able to do more since the teacher will probably understand that your rusty but if you don’t plan to use dance when your older than its really just a waste of the teachers time and your money.

Ken asks…
I don’t have too many friends. Very lonely often.?
I moved to Virginia from Michigan last June. It was a military move so I had no choice but to go along with it. I had to leave all of my friends and family members behind for an area that I knew no one. I went the summer with having no friends. I started at a new high school. I didn’t know anyone. I usually sat alone at lunch or on the bus and read books.
I began to meet people. I met a friend who I had a lot in common with. She and I hit it off right away. As the year progressed she began to change a lot from meeting a new student. We got into an arguement and things changed. She and I made up. Recently she wouldn’t help me prepare for cheer tryouts. Even though I told her I would have really apperaciated her help. It really made me feel bad because I didn’t make the team. I have other friends too. The problem is no one wants to spend time with me. I have inivited people shopping, to amusement parks, and to my home. They are either to busy, sick, or don’t even respond back at all. The last time I was over at a friend’s house was almost a year ago, before I moved. I find it very lonely sometimes. I see kids at the mall with their friends. It just hurts so bad to see other kids having fun. None of my friends invite me anywhere either. What really bothers me is when people put things on Facebook. Like I’m here with such and such. Or such and such is coming over to my house. It makes me think “What about me?” I’m in high school. I’m supposed to have a social life right?
I still keep in touch with my friend’s from home. I need friend’s in my new home to keep me company. I’m a nice person. I’m funny and smart. I had so many friend’s in Michigan. Now it’s like I’m in a shell. I’ve been very shy since I’ve moved. What can I do? How can stop feeling so lonely all the time?
I know people have told me to outgoing. It is vey hard for me to put myself out there. Especially in a new high school.

Dennis Carter answers:
I really know how this feels, pray to God to change your life and it will happen. And you’ll have to make the effort too.
Last year, I was a complete loner, pretty much I only had one friend (my bff, and i am still with her) but really i dont feel u can live with one friend and she was leaving soon. I remember last year summer look out of the window hearing kids laughing and having fun at the fair and on FB ppl on their statuses saying what fun they were having and tagging names. And absolutely no one asked me to have fun and I felt so lonely. But, I decided to pray to God, take some time out away from everyone to refresh, move on from the past when i had lots of friends in my old school and came back feeling confident to make the effort to show people who really was and make friends.
It was very difficult because a lot of people were like at first ‘What do you want?’ but it was worth it, i think you should pray to God and take some time out. Still keep in touch with your friends tho!
But, don’t think you’re worthless and not important, because you are, you just haven’t found your niche yet
